As a national promotional development bank, we complement the offer of commercial commercial banks with long-term resources in the areas of market gaps, which include:

  • Infrastructure and similar activities.

Our way of doing business

As a national promotional development bank, we complement the offer of commercial commercial banks with long-term resources in the areas of market gaps, which include mainly small and medium-sized enterprises, internationalisation, technological development, research and innovation, environmental and energy projects, infrastructure and the like.

 

Sources of financing are obtained mainly by borrowing on foreign financial markets in our own name and on our own account, and by guaranteeing the Republic of Slovenia. Such a borrowing option enables the Slovenian economy to obtain competitive financial resources, which directly or indirectly provides support for development and penetration into foreign markets. 

 

As a national export credit agency, we insure export credits and investments in the name and on behalf of the Republic of Slovenia, thus reducing the risks of Slovenian companies when operating on the international market.

Diversified international cooperation

SID Bank maintains a diversified international activity through membership in international organizations and associations, as well as through active links with institutions operating in the same or related fields, and in particular:

  • development and financial institutions,

  • commercial banks,

  • insurance and reinsurance undertakings, and

  • source agency.

Through the exchange of information and best practices, good relations and other forms of cooperation, financial institutions reduce the risks they are exposed to on a daily basis.

 

In addition to intensive cooperation in international organisations, SID Bank also maintains and develops close bilateral cooperation with numerous development banks, export credit agencies and other financial institutions.

European Long-Term Investors Association (ELTI)

The European Long-Term Investors Association (ELTI) was established in Paris following the publication of the European Commission's Green Paper on long-term financing of the European economy in July 2013. 

It brings together national development and promotional banks and institutions that offer financing solutions tailored to the specific needs of their countries and economies. The objective of ELTI is to promote long-term investment in line with the objectives and initiatives developed by the European Union to promote sustainable, smart and inclusive growth and job creation.

SID Bank has been a member of the association since its establishment. 

 

European Association of Public Banks(EAPB)

The European Association of Public Banks (EAPB) has been operating since 2000 and is the voice of the European public banking sector. EAPB directly and indirectly represents more than 90 financial institutions. 

 

Members include national and regional promotional banks, municipal finance agencies and public commercial banks across Europe. EAPB members provide financial services and project financing that support sustainable economic and social development, including through activities ranging from financing businesses and promoting a greener economy to financing social housing, healthcare, education and public infrastructure at national, regional and local levels.

 

Network of European Financial Institutions for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (NEFI)

The Network of European Financial Institutions for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (NEFI), which was established in 1999, is made up of financial institutions from the Member States of the European Union. 

 

NEFI maintains a continuous dialogue with the institutions of the European Union and other associations dealing with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), provides expertise and advice to the EU administration and its financial institutions in the planning and implementation of financial schemes for SMEs, provides SMEs with access to EU and national financial schemes, and aims to exchange experiences between members and assist in activities,  related to SMEs.

 

China-CEE International Banking Consortium (17+1) - CCEE (China Central and Eastern Europe Investment CO-Operation Fund)

The CCEE Initiative for Cooperation between the Countries of Central and Eastern Europe and China refers to the development of the fields of economy, infrastructure, education, science, culture and other fields. Cooperation between the initiative's development banks is also established within the framework of economic cooperation.
