Introduction
SID Bank is the national promotion, development and export bank of the Republic of Slovenia. Through long-term financing, insurance and other development financial instruments, it supports economic growth, job creation and sustainable development.
The Bank was established in 1992 as the Slovenian Export Company, d.d., Ljubljana, with the purpose of securing and financing the export of Slovenian companies. In 2006, it obtained a license from the Bank of Slovenia and was transformed into a specialized bank for the promotion of exports and development. Since 2008, the Republic of Slovenia has been its sole shareholder.
SID Bank operates as a national development and promotion bank and as an authorised Slovenian export credit agency, which provides non-marketable insurance in the name and on behalf of the Republic of Slovenia.
