Open investment platform connects investors and strengthens the Slovenian capital market

With an open call, SID Kapital wants to contribute to the further development of the Slovenian equity and quasi-equity financing market, improve the access of Slovenian companies to capital for growth, innovation and expansion into foreign markets, and support the development of a professional environment for alternative investment fund managers.

The call is intended for alternative investment fund managers or teams that manage or plan to establish an alternative investment fund based in the European Union. Consideration is also possible for funds and managers under formation if the applicant clearly presents the planned fund structure, investment strategy, management team, preparation status, indicative timeline and expected impact in Slovenia.

As part of the open call, SID Kapital allocates up to EUR 100 million for investments in alternative investment funds. The individual commitment of SID Kapital for payment into an individual fund may range from one to EUR 30 million. As a rule, SID Kapital's share may reach up to 25 percent of the fund's size, with a maximum of 50 percent under specific justification, and a maximum of 70 percent in the case of technology transfer funds, under certain conditions. 

The Open Call is designed as a broader investment platform that enables the inclusion of additional capital from institutional and private investors in addition to SID Kapital funds. The purpose of the platform is to mobilise public and private capital and jointly identify quality investment opportunities.

The platform enables participating investors to combine knowledge and experience, increase coordination and partially unify the procedures for dealing with investment opportunities. By doing so, we want to contribute to more efficient procedures and better use of available sources of capital. Each participating investor decides on an individual investment independently and independently, in his own name and for his own account.

The first partner involved in this cooperation is Modra zavarovalnica, which will allocate up to EUR 6 million for investments within the platform. Its inclusion represents an important first step in connecting domestic institutional investors. The platform is also open to the participation of other institutional and private investors.

By working together, we want to strengthen the Slovenian capital market, improve the access of the Slovenian economy to capital and create long-term development effects for the Republic of Slovenia.

The call is open until the available funds are used up or cancelled. All tasks related to the open call are carried out by SID Asset Management in the name and on behalf of SID Kapital. Each investment opportunity will be considered individually with regard to compliance with SID Kapital's investment policies, the quality and maturity of the fund, the expected impact in Slovenia, the available funds and internal decision-making procedures. 

An open invitation does not constitute a public procurement, a binding offer, a prospectus, an investment recommendation, an invitation to bid or a commitment by SID Kapital to carry out an investment. The submission of an expression of interest does not imply a right to financing, the commencement of negotiations or an obligation to carry out an investment.
